JUN 22: Depart for Barcelona, Spain.
JUN 23: Arrive in Barcelona, Spain, and transfer to the superior Avenida Palace hotel or similar.
JUN 24: Enjoy a panoramic drive showcasing the significant sights of Barcelona and a visit to the Codorniu wine cellars. Drive past the famous tree-lined boulevard, La Rambla, and see the main site of the 1992 Olympic Games. Travel down the Passeig de Gracia and view some of Spain’s most famous architectural creations, Gaudí’s whimsical and extraordinary Casa Mila, Casa Batlló, and the still uncompleted Sagrada Familia. After lunch on your own, drive into the famous Penedés wine region to visit the immense Codorniu wine cellars, declared a national monument by King Juan Carlos I. Your tour includes a half-mile-long electric train ride through the ancient cellars. (Motor coach tour with less than a moderate amount of walking at the Codorniu cellars.)
