Virtually unchanged since medieval times, the Romantic Road winds through unspoiled countryside and quaint storybook towns. Following its route takes you through Germany's colorful history and it's as scenically stunning as it is enlightening. Stop in one of the best preserved medieval towns in Germany, Rothenburg on the Tauber River. Once here it doesnt take much to imagine yourself in the Middle Ages. A guided tour of this ancient town shows you marketplaces, historical buildings, towers and fountains, hidden treasures tucked everywhere.

Marvel at the city walls of old Nuremberg, count a total of 80 towers and a thousand years of history. See the ancient Imperial castle which dates back to the Middle Ages and from its lofty site enjoy five star views of the city. Walk through narrow streets lined with quaint timber-framed houses and visit the picturesque Hauptmarkt Square with its beautiful fountain, 14th century Gothic church and Old Town Hall.

Czech Republic
It is the city of spires and domes, a Renaissance dream on the banks of the River Vltava. Soak up its magnificent 18th century character and enjoy its Bohemian charm. Visit the castle area and marvel at the spectacular St. Vitus Cathedral and Royal Palace. Cross the river over the medieval Charles Bridge to the Old Town Square that houses a 400-year-old Town Clock, as well as many other historical buildings. Cruise the River Vltava and admire the elegant mansions sitting regally on its banks.

Nicknamed the "Florence of the North," Dresden is known for its exquisite classical architecture. Although badly damaged in WWII, the restoration has been phenomenal and the city is regaining its former glory. Visit this lovely city that boasts a number of magnificent historical monuments: the extraordinary Semper Opera House, the Frauenkirche church and the amazing Baroque Zwinger that houses several museums containing some of Europe's finest art collections.
