SOUTH AFRICA

University of Wyoming Alumni Association

Take a moment from your busy day to imagine. See yourself in a place Sir Francis Drake called “the fairest Cape we saw in the whole circumference of the earth.” Imagine being at the tip of Africa where majestic mountains stand guard over unspoiled beaches, where a penguin colony frolics not far from cosmopolitan Cape Town. There you are bartering for a piece of folk art in the craft market, or enjoying a night in a jazz cafe. Such is the diversity of this magnificent land. See yourself visiting Stellenbosch and Franschoek, storied villages in the verdant winelands of South Africa. You are tasting excellent wines and marveling at the pastoral beauty of the magnificent wine estates. The next evening perhaps have your binoculars trained on a lion asleep under a tree or elephants roaming the plains. Now envision yourself at Victoria Falls, standing in front of one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of the World” thinking “how lucky am I to be here, to see this, in all its glory.”
