Dr. Brian Tande became the 20^th President of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in January 2025. He previously served as the Dean of the College of Engineering and Mines at the University of North Dakota.

He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware and a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Tande and his wife Desiree look forward to connecting with South Dakota Alumni as part of the inaugural Hardrockers at Sea Classic Panama Canal & Tropics cruise.
