Bobby Cremins took the reins at Georgia Tech in 1981 and rapidly built the program into one of the nation’s elites. While at Tech, Cremins garnered three ACC titles, three ACC Coach of the Year Awards, and in 1990 was named the Naismith National Coach of the Year after leading the Yellow Jackets to the Final Four.

In his 19-season tenure on the Flats, Cremins coached his Tech teams to the NCAA Tournament 10 times. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the Sweet 16 five times under his watch, and the Elite Eight twice, including the 1990 Final Four appearance. Tech also played in the NIT four times under Cremins.

In 2000, Cremins stepped down with a record of 354-237. He was the recipient of the 2004 Outstanding Contributor to Georgia Basketball Award and the playing floor at Georgia Tech’s McCamish Pavilion is named “Cremins Court” in his honor. Cremins was inducted into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame in 2006 and honored as an ACC Legend in 2015.
