FEATURING  GARY ASHBY & DAVID THETFORD  

David Thetford is a Lubbock native and a graduate of Monterey High School and Texas Tech University. He began his career as a teacher and basketball coach for the Lubbock ISD before entering the business and real estate world. David has been heavily involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and serves as Chair of the Lubbock ISD Athletic Hall of Honor. He has also broadcast hundreds of high school and Texas Tech football and basketball games on TV and radio.

Gary Ashby for the past 14 years lived in Lubbock and was a very successful baseball player at Monterey High School and then at Texas Tech University. He was named an NCAA All-American in college, and after a five-year career with the San Diego Padres, Gary returned to his alma mater as its Head Baseball Coach. Later in his career, Gary joined Morgan Stanley as a Financial Service Consultant, a position he has held for over 30 years. For the past 10 years, David and Gary have teamed up for the very popular Sports Talk with Thetford and Ashby. Their weekly show covers all Red Raider Sports along with local high school coverage. They were both inducted into the Lubbock ISD Athletic Hall of Honor in 2015.
