Hosted by Gary Blair

Gary Blair is a member of 10 Halls of Fame, including the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 2023. He is the winningest coach in Texas A&M basketball history and led the Aggies to the program’s first national championship in 2011. A Dallas native, Blair guided Texas A&M to 16 NCAA Tournaments, five conference titles, and 444 victories, achievements that led to the court at Reed Arena being named in his honor.

Before arriving in Aggieland, Blair served coached at Arkansas (1993–2003), SFA (1985–93), Louisiana Tech University (1980–85), and South Oak Cliff High School (1973–80). A pioneer in women’s basketball, he retired as the 12th-winningest coach in NCAA DI history with 852 career victories. He also served as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech for two national championships, including the first NCAA women’s title in 1982.

Blair served in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical science and a minor in journalism. He earned his master’s degree in education in 1974. He later founded Coach Blair Charities, which has raised nearly $1.8 million in support of numerous organizations, including the Special Olympics.

Blair and his wife, Kyla, enjoy traveling, golfing, and spending time with their family, including their nine grandchildren.
